Ghana and the environment

Ghana lies in the tropical zone of Africa, so you should really get anywhere tropical rain forest to face. So it was at least once in the past, but because in recent decades, some 80% of the rain forest was cut down, you have to go even in national parks to see him. There you will find him before but not as we know it from nature documentaries - you do not see crazy, colorful plants and fungi which, when you get into contact with danger. At least not to pursue the paths of tourists. The same applies to animals and insects. Man has perpetrated here in the woods too much influence and drove the animals.
is a general case of the Ghana, the appreciation of nature. Every few days we see a truck with large rain forest trees roar through the city. Legally, it is forbidden to cut down, like hitting with a stick in the school - it still makes each! Fortunately, Ghana is her (to my knowledge) no paper itself, that they would cut down more trees. pack newspaper as toilet paper and for food, but is instead imported from Europe. The German media market advertising, to Italian sports articles I've seen it all. Apart from the fact that it is an unnecessary expense, "Garbage" to bring from Europe to Ghana, it is also environmentally a bad thing. The paper ends up here eventually on the streets or is burned instead of recycled.
Until the mentality changes, trash not easy to be on the ground, something must be done. Currently help "Zoomilon" the garbage problem. It is a waste of public service that cleans the streets daily in the morning. Unfortunately, the people are aware that someone always clears away the dirt and so are food scraps, newspapers, batteries, motor oil and plastic bags on the street or thrown into the open drains along the roadside. The plastic bags
play a particularly important role. On one hand you get in everything you buy, to at least one plastic bag. Is it something to eat, the content in a transparent bag packed and the whole again in a black thin. Since there is oil in Ghana and have found it recently, yet a new oil well, the plastic bags are dirt cheap. Something like an environmental tax to the whole would probably stop there, of course.
Furthermore one has started about 8 years to change its drinking water supply of the population. Back in the village centers were set up water barrels, from which one could drink a cup. Mind you all the same in the Cups, which led to the spread of disease. Therefore, today there is the half liter plastic bags of drinking water, which can be bought in every shop and on the road. The water bags, here "pure water", shall be offered by various manufacturers. Some brands are good, possibly the water tastes either old or chemistry.
Ultimately land but all bags on the street, or in the bush where it intends to throw. As we know, plastic does not decompose and will remain in position until it is burned or someone collects.
The beaches on the coast it is relatively clean. But that only in the tourist areas. When you walk on the beach along for a while, so get there very quickly to areas, where only the garbage heaps Sun
Another thing that is incomprehensible to me, is that the cars start their engines unnecessarily. Coming to a Trotrostation, the engine is either at, or is turned on when the car is half full, but you certainly wait fifteen minutes, before driving off. Often when shopping or filling up is allowed to the engine and the whole not from fear, could start the car no more, but of recklessness! What's more, it smells of exhaust fumes in Trotro mostly because the body is often rusted at the bottom. Once the car is, which is worse ...
While there are already approaches that show that you are trying to change anything. But like so much here in Ghana, it takes viieel time before something happens. I hope the young, modern generation can make a difference!
